ok so last weekend me , al and garrett flew up to NYC for UNBROKEN / INDECISION / JESUIT / DAMNATION

needless to say it was the best weekend ever , we stayed with one of my oldest friends Brian , we did more in the 3 days we were there than most people do in a month , we went to ground zero , the MOMA , saw the statue of liberty , wall st. , the harry potter exhibit , NBC studios , and a ton more , we were in vegan paradise so many incredible places we ate at. we saw ROD FUCKING STEWART and his hot ass wife walking down the street and Doug E Doug from Cool Runnings was in the booth behind us at lunch , i saw Meredith Viera from the View , she is hot in real life total Cougar

ok now for the shows , friday night was INDECISION / INCENDIARY / UNRESTRAINED at some little shit hole in the wall bar in brooklyn it was a madhouse , seeing INDECISION who is one of my fav bands of all time in their hometown was something to behold. people were going totally bat shit crazy

then the next night was the big one , UNBROKEN / INDECISION / JESUIT / DAMNATION

we got there right when Damnation was doing there GB cover , goddamn subway system in NYC is nuts , Jesuit reunited for this show and goddamn they were just as crushing as when they were still playing shows some 12+ years ago , Indecision once again leveled the place , NO HEAVEN NO HELL ARRHHHHHHHH still makes me crazy , then Unbroken played we were right up front going totally bonkers , John form Undertow came out and sang Cutting Away i thought Al was gonna explode , then Brian from Threadbare came out and covered Minor Threat once again FUCKING AWESOME , getting to see 2 of my fav bands of all time was great and getting to spend it with people that i care about means even more.

cannot wait to see INDECISION again in ATL at the end of the month , its gonna be a banger for sure

ok , im not to sure very many people remember this band , they were from richmond in the mid 90's , when they broke up their bass player Nate went on to Jesuit and then on to playing in Converge full time , he also sings in Doomriders when not when with Converge , i def think Channel is a very overlooked band , on a side note their 7'' was also the first release for Stillborn.

Count Me Out tour shirt from 2002 ,

Permanent is one of my top 5 favorite hardcore records ever , the lyrics are some of the most personal and heartfelt i have ever heard , this record no matter how much i listen to it still gets me excited and i am reminded of how awesome the years 2000 - 2003 was for hardcore , bands like this , AN , Panic , Sworn In ,Horror Show were bringing some new and exciting , how it was ok to talk about loss , people moving on , relationships , and it seems like alot of people nowadays have forgotten these bands i for one think we desperately need more bands like this today instead of the same ole tough guy generic non sense that is flooding hardcore today.

i actually got this from a good friend in little rock , i remember seeing Count Me Out in Birmingham in 2002 with Over My Dead Body , they had this shirt but only in XL but at the time i wore mediums and there was no way in hell i could wear an XL fast forward 8 years and XL is the way to go haha

here is hoping one day CMO will do a reunion and you can bet i will be there going completely bat shit crazy.

so this weekend Me , Kyle and Dom went to Little Rock to hang with Brooke and Jerry , Dustin joined us as well , awesome SDRE shirt by the way , i forgot to tell him. its always great getting to see friends and spending time with them outside of a show , we ate at an awesome resturant called lillys dim sum check it out here .... http://www.lillysdimsum.com/, it was great and very vegan friendly and the staff actually were helpful , then we went to the IMAX and saw Inception , it was mind meltingly good , Chris Nolan is truly an amazing filmmaker.

we spent saturday watching alot of Curb Your Enthusiam and Deadwood and playing with the doggies it was a good day indeed

kyle , dom , and jerry made pigs of themselves at five guys , i ate at moe's instead , five guys just doesnt cut it in the vegan dept.

we left little rock around 7 and came home .

Sunday

ate lunch with the family and then took mom and sis to see Inception , even better the second time , went over to moms and played with lucy and lola for a while , lola can walk better now since they have put down some carpets and runners on the hardwood floors , also had two packages waiting for me , my Vaccine shirt finally came in after over 2 months , it really takes all but 2 seconds to put a shirt in an envelope and go to the post office , people are just fucking lazy bottom line , and i finally got around to buyiing the Kill Your Idols boxset , yeah yeah i know , but i had heard way to many sketchy things about the label that put it out so thats why i didnt get it from them , but i did get it for less than $20 on ebay so i was happy,

i have clean sheets on my bed for tonight , that is seriously one of the best feelings in the world to get into

ok so this weekend , me and kyle made the trip to Pennsylvania for A Time We Will Remember ,

we left thursday morning and drove all day and night and made it to our friend matt's house in baltimore about 3 am ,

we slept in got cleaned up and went and ate , vegan philly cheesesteaks are the shit

went to celebrated summer records which is ran by an old friend who was in an awesome band called Never Enough we also ran into the Not Sorry guys , talked for a bit with them and then went back to matts for a while before the show in Silver Springs ,

the show in SS was Praise , Mindset , Not Sorry and Coke Bust, it was in a punk / crusty house , the show was in the basement and it was awesome imagine about 40 people crammed into a basement that should only hold around 20 , it ruled ,

saw some old friends at the show which is always awesome

after the show we went back to matts and crashed , got up , showered and went and ate at an awesome pizza spot called matthews , they even had a pizza i could eat and it was fucking fire,

after lunch we drove to lemoyne for the show , i love pennsylvania its really nice

again saw a bunch of old friends which is always awesome ,

the show was fun , alpha and omega , mother of mercy , chi town buddies convicted and harms way , naysayer , swamp thing , unfortunately foundation had to drop b/c of van troubles ,but at least they are ok and that is all that matters , we stayed the night with jerry and got up early on sunday and drove to ATL for foundations rec release , it was awesome all the same bands played and also title fight and gypsy , and a surprise 2 0r 3 songs from BAD SEED which was awesome i love that band

man this weekend ruled , me and kyle headed down to memphis for the Dead City /Victims / Black Breath / Trap Them show and for craziness for blakes bday , needless to say it was a great show , black breath was killer

after the show we left and headed to trax and met up with the crew i was esp thrilled to see old friends jason and jon ( p.s. i wish few left standing would play just once more ) . I always eat way to much when im there but thats ok i can eat like a king in memphis , it was a good time all around

back to OB and to gayrats house we stayed up hella late being retarded ,

enter saturday we woke up late, went over to blakes house for a bit , then to eat and to garretts house for some swimming action , p.s. garretts cat is SATAN

headed back to cordova and went to pai wei i didnt eat anything cause i was still feeling the effects of lunch , lennys is good , but goddamn coming out is a different story , al got some tofu that looked like they were circumsizing motherfuckers in the back , shit looked nasty , he picked at it the whole , and we just made fun of it the whole time .

so last night me and the crew drove to nashville for DEATH THREAT . we ended up leaving from jonesboro at 3:30 , i could not miss my class , needless to say we were doing like 80 sometimes 85 or 90 all the way there. and we even stopped a few times. we missed the local band , but who gives a shit since hollywood is gone i do not give a shit about the local scene. we got there just in time for DEAD CITY , who as always killed , its kind of hard for bands to follow them, im not just saying that because they are great friends its the goddamn truth , after they played another shitty local band played so me and dom and bill and alysia went over to the porno store , sketchyness ensued as usual when me and bill are together . the scumbags who worked at the store kept watching us which was kinda weird but anyway . keith was in a trace looking at all the skank ass slut porn , i think he ended up buying some bella donna dvd , that bitch is crazy .

walked back to the show and watching crowns of kings , reaper records newest additon and they didnt disappoint . skarhead cover was awesome and the one life crew intro they played was awesome as well .

then at last DEATH THREAT took the stage , i have not seen this band since the summer of 2004 at posi numbers , i got to see them 4 times in 04 and it ruled fucking hard every time , and the set they did at furnace fest 2002 was just as killer , they played a good mix of old and new jams , lots of singslongs and croosh pit action ahahaha

aaron is still def one of my favorite frontmen in hardcore

good seeing lots of folks i normally do not get to see on a regular basis ,

we left nashville around 11:30 and drove straight home stopping once or twice to get gas and rest so i wouldnt fall asleep , i think i went to bed around 4 something this morning . my alarm went off at 7:10 , i am currently at work from 8-5 today . im in need of some sleep .

ok so this past week went by so slow i thought i was going to go insane .

ok so summer is almost over , that means back to school , i did all my paperwork early for $$$$ , like a good responsible adult , so i would have it when fall starts , that means excess $$$ im getting some more ink

i have two appointments already scheduled for sept and oct.

im planning on saving a good deal of money and going over sea's next year , that is my goal

HELLBOY 2 tonight , then next week THE DARK KNIGHT finally hits , we are going saturday to see it in the IMAX in little rock , i plan on seeing it thursday at the midnight showing and prob also friday at some point

tuesday the 15th nashville , hollywoods last show with verse , have heart , foundation and like 4 other bands

then on the 20th - COLD WORLD , IRON AGE AND TRASH TALK at the muse

another semester of school is finished , i did really well this go around , well i have been doing really well since i started back in the spring of 07 , hopefully next year i will graduate ,

i will be going to orlando in june with the family to see my sister , she is working at universal studios this summer

i have seen iron man 3 times haahaha

at the end of this month 2 cool shows , legion die young and dead city in memphis then cruel hand outbreak miles away and dead city in little rock , should be fun

ok , so school is almost over , i think i am only going to take one class the first summer session , there is just way to much going on in july for another class ,

i got to meet george singleton monday , for those who are unfamiliar with him , he is prob one of the country's most prolific comedic writers , he signed a few books i brought and he was an all around awesome guy , he asked me if we had met before and he swore up and down we had he also asked me if i was in a band ahhaahha , i guess i get that alot

modern life is war was also monday , i j7mped on some heads during the ''secret cover'' , im going to miss that band , i am glad i got to see them 10+ times , good memories

i also went to american eagle today and bought some shit , i bought some boxers with water guns on them ahahaha shit rules

i called in at work today cause i have felt like shit for a few days , i guess all this school work and going non stop is catching up with me , as soon as school is out i plan on taking a few days off and just sleeping , well maybe not , but probably going to my mom's house and staying in the pool all day .

into the wild was one of the most haunting and powerful films i have seen in quite a while , emile hirsch i believe captured chris 100 % , sean penn cared a great deal for this and it is evident with his flawless direction , eddie vedder's songs stay with you and the images stay with you long after the credits role , hal holbrook is brilliant ,

this is powerful film making at its finest

tragic and beautiful

one of the best films of the year or any year for that matter
